Now... let's discover some of the hidden gems in San Diego:
Lucky Stars Market (first Sunday of every month)
This one is my absolute favorite in San Diego, and to be honest, half of my closet is from here! The Lucky Stars Market located in North Park is a haven for all vintage enthusiasts and treasure hunters. Usually only once a month on a Saturday, there are some months where they offer Saturday and Sunday. This charming market offers a curated collection of unique and one-of-a-kind items that capture the essence of bygone eras. From retro clothing and accessories to vintage home decor and collectibles, Lucky Stars Market is a paradise for those seeking to embrace nostalgia and discover hidden gems. With its friendly atmosphere and passionate vendors from around the San Diego County, visiting this market is not just a shopping experience but a journey through time.Day-to-Day Vintage (once a month)
Quite similar to the Lucky Stars Market, the Day-to-Day Vintage Market is only once a month as well. There is the Day-to-Day Vintage shop that is open every day, while the vintage market is only once a month; both are also located in North Park! The market is carefully curated with a diverse range of vintage goods, ensuring there's something for every style and preference. Whether you're a seasoned vintage enthusiast or a curious newcomer, Day-to-Day Vintage Market offers a delightful shopping experience where you can uncover unique pieces and embrace the timeless allure of vintage fashion and design. This market also has items priced a bit cheaper compared to other markets as well!

Kobeys Swap Meet (every Friday, Saturday, & Sunday)
Unlike the other markets, Kobeys has a entry fee of $2 per person. Kobey's Swap Meet is a bustling outdoor market located in San Diego, known for its vibrant atmosphere and diverse array of goods. With over 1,000 vendors, it offers a treasure trove of new and used items, ranging from clothing and electronics to antiques and collectibles. Whether you're a bargain hunter, a vintage enthusiast, or simply looking for a unique shopping experience, Kobey's Swap Meet is the perfect destination. (I used to go to this swap meet very often during my first year at SDSU, and I still tend to visit it with friends every now and then!)More info here: Kobeys Swap Meet Instagram

Thank you sharing! I just want to say I love your writing style and the tone you write with. It is engaging, creative, and informative. I really liked how you identified several different avenues for thrifting that are not just thrift store locations. I thrift a lot and love it, but I mostly just go to stores everyone already knows about like Plato's. You did an excellent job of highlighting why each specific avenue was unique. The graphics you included were perfect because they not only gave information about each market, but they were colorful and captivating. Thank you so much for such a fun read!
ReplyDeleteHey!!
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed reading your blog post! You have such an engaging aspect to your writing and the fact that I am obsessed with thrifting definitely intrigued me to read your blog even more. I was very excited to see that you wrote about the Kobey Swap Meet because I have been dying to go for a long time but just have not found the time to. With so many vendors it is a spot I am very eager to check out and shop, plus I feel like everyone always hypes it up and finds some really cool pieces! I am also looking forward to checking out the other thrift markets that you mentioned!!
Hey Tina! I'm so glad I came across your page. I've been wanting to take my little sister thrifting now that she's back home from UCLA and she hasn't found much at the usual spots we've tried finding something good. I also found out about the vintage changes they've made at Kobey's. I used to go as a kid but it wasn't as great as I hear it is nowadays so I'll definitely be checking it out more frequently. I've made sure to follow the other two' socials for those once a month dates and can't wait. Thank you so much for sharing!
